A solid weekend of baseball led to 3 Scorpions teams playing in championship games last Sunday.

Led by 13u Elite, playing in the 14u AAA division, Scorpions baseball also had representatives in the 12u AA Gold Division championship and 11u AA Silver Division Championship.

13u Elite play solid, fundamental baseball beating the #1 and #2 seeds on bracket day, and earning themselves their first 14u championship.  An exciting first game Sunday, saw them get an early lead and never look back on a solid California Inland Empire team.   Inland Empire scored 2 in the bottom of the 7th, but it wasn't enough, as the Scorpions won 5-3.

In the championship game, the Scorpions scored 5 in the top of the 1st inning and rode a strong outing by Colsen Gambetta to the winner's circle in a 9-3 victory.

Our 12u team also had a great run this weekend.  Taking a 4-0 record into the championship game, the 12u squad swung the bats well all tourney.   Scoring 9.4 runs per game, the bats were solid.  But it was pitching and defense on day 2 that carried them to the championship against the #1 seeded CBA NV Storm.  The Scorpions came up a little short in a well played championship game and have great momentum heading into next weekend's Avalanche Grand Slam Tourney.

Our 11u Black team made their way into their 1st ever championship game with back to back wins on bracket day.  A 6-3 victory over Inferno was followed by a 14-12 shootout victory over CBA NV Warhawks.  The championship game was also a close one, with the Scorpions coming up short in a 7-6 loss to the Tri-City Venon.  A very solid showing for this new team.

Overall a solid weekend for Scorpions Baseball.  Great job boys!
