In their 3rd Perfect Game Tournament of the year, the 16u Scorpions Gold were one inning away from playing in their first PG Championship Game.  However, the only other Las Vegas team in the tournament, CBA Nevada 2019, had plans of their own.  After taking the lead in the top of the 7th on a double steal, the Scorpions needed 3 outs to finish it up.  CBA Nevada 2019 sent their big bats up in the bottom of the 7th and earned a hard fought 5-4 victory on a single to right field to walk it off.

The Scorpions went 3-0 in pool play, allowing only 3 runs in those games.  Fantastic pitching performances by Steven Laureano (Desert Pines HS 2018), Andrew Matulich (Centennial HS 2020), Cameron Quincy (Arbor View 2019) and Travis Foth (Faith Lutheran 2020) earned each of them a spot on the All-Tournament Team.  Foth earned a share of the MV-Pitcher Award for his 7 inning, 1 hit, 6 K's, 1 BB effort against Triple Play Baseball .  Joining these pitchers on the All-Tournament Team were Johnny Castaneda (Desert Pines HS 2018) and Payton Brooks (Arbor View HS 2020), for their solid work with the bats over the weekend.

Congrats boys on a very successful weekend!
